Cortez Computer/Library Paraprofessional

MONTEZUMA-CORTEZ SCHOOL DISTRICT RE-1 COMPUTER/LIBRARY PARAPROFESSIONAL REPORTS TO: Principal POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting students and teachers in computer instruction in labs or classrooms; maintains computer hardware and software inventories; various other support activities. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele. TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Plans and conducts supplementary instruction in computers and computer assisted instruction, including individual students and classroom groups Maintains computer hardware and software inventories Provides classroom materials for use by students Maintains upkeep of computer hardware and other equipment May supervise students in various situations May provide clerical and other types of support for office Performs other related duties as assigned or requested POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Education: Specialized classes beyond high school Minimum Experience One year Skill Requirements Computers Word processing General office equipment Effective communication Knowledge of classroom management Some knowledge of child development Some knowledge of instruction General Expectations Is flexible Has the ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and co-workers Maintains a generally positive attitude Observes all district policies and procedures LICENSES OR CERTIFICATION: None required ESSENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: Mostly clean and comfortable ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasional lifting 5 to 50 pounds Frequent bending, squatting, standing, walking, kneeling, and stooping Occasional sitting, reaching, and climbing SUPERVISORY DUTIES: None The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
