AVID Elective Teacher Job Description: Purpose: To work with the Principal, Site Team and Staff in realizing School-Wide AVID as a means to strengthening the core instruction, in turn increasing access to and equity for college and career readiness for all students. To provide instruction that is aligned to the tenets of AVID in an AVID elective class and to support students in taking rigorous courses such as advanced math, honors or AP classes Duties and Responsibilities: AVID Teacher ? Collaborate with stakeholders (AVID students, parents, counselors and teachers) to develop an AVID program based in college-going culture utilizing AVID curriculum materials ? Teach and promote the use of WICOR instructional strategies across content areas. ? Establish and maintain high expectations for AVID students' achievement. ? Be an effective communicator with staff, parents, students and the community in support of educational programs. ? Schedule and oversee the AVID tutors to ensure tutoring is aligned with the AVID's expectations. ? Monitor student data and support AVID students with all academic course work. Qualifications: ? Knowledge of the tenets of AVID and the WICOR strategies ? Commitment to attend AVID Summer Institutes and other professional development opportunities. ? Demonstrate success in working collaboratively with other professional staff on instructional improvement strategies. ? Demonstrates intercultural competence in working with learners, staff and families of all demographic subgroups. ? Demonstrates the ability to advocate for underachieving, underserved learners. ? Demonstrates understanding of how the school system works in order to get what is needed for the program and the learners. ? Demonstrates the ability to gain the respect of and collaborate with school faculty and parents. ? Demonstrates the ability to work well with and to train tutors, especially in the concept of tutorial groups. ? Excellent oral and writing communication skills ? Teaching license. Closing Date: Until Filled Position Summary: Our teachers are the key to our students' success. The role of our teachers is to facilitate a dynamic learning environment that engages all students in a rigorous and relevant educational experience that meets individual needs while holding all students to a high standard of performance. Essential Duties: Creates an effective and engaging learning environment that aligns with school-wide values, behavioral expectations, and positive behavioral support systems. Utilize effective teaching practices to teach curriculum for assigned grades and subjects so that student master grade level standards. Develops and teaches standards-based lessons that provide all students with rigorous instruction aligned to district curriculum. Actively participates in weekly teacher-led, grade-level and content-level professional learning communities. Actively participates in the data-driven instruction cycle including regularly utilizing data from formative, interim, and benchmark assessments to evaluate student progress and make adjustments to instruction to ensure all students are making adequate growth. Maintain an orderly, positive learning environment free from disruptive behavior by implementing proactive classroom management strategies and adhering to the school discipline policies. Proactively communicates with and engages parents and guardians as partners in supporting student educational goals. Supports the development of the whole child including social-emotional skills. Complies with all applicable State and Federal laws and District policies. Minimum Qualifications: ? Must hold or qualify for Colorado Licensure in the related level and subject area of teaching. ? Understanding of standards-based instruction and the data-driven instructional cycle ? Knowledge of Colorado State Content Standards preferred Other Essential Skills: Specific Content Skills: Demonstrate an understanding of the Colorado state standards for levels and subject areas of teaching certification. Ability to deepen student's literacy skills across the curriculum through exposure to non-fiction texts, opportunities to practice skills in citing evidence to text, and writing across the curriculum. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
