Position Summary: The ideal candidate has experience teaching students who need specific gifted programming and has experience coaching teachers in a diverse school setting. Montezuma-Cortez, RE-1, is seeking a candidate who exhibits superior organizational and communication skills; is compassionate; can provide effective collaborative and open-minded leadership; is flexible and team-oriented with a collaborative approach to working with colleagues, administrators, and parents. The candidate will design and implement a three year innovative elementary gifted program to meet the creative needs of the district's elementary gifted and talented students and aligns with the secondary gifted program. TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Designs and implements an innovative elementary gifted program Develops and oversees elementary gifted programming Regularly collaborates with teachers in order to best meet the learning needs of gifted and talented students in the classroom. Communicates with parents and staff around identification, ALPs and programming Assists liaisons in the ALP development including gathering data, creating and updating the ALPs Works with elementary gifted liaisons to provide support to students, staff and parents Attends Gifted and Talented District and BOCES meetings. Coordinates the administration of the Naglieri Screening Assessment for 2nd grade students. Coordinates and facilitates Spelling Bee, Knowledge Bowl, a GT field trip, gallery night and Math Olympiad Provides professional development, support and coaching to all elementary staff Willingness to be trained in district initiatives that support gifted students Analyze available data to ensure that elementary students are making academic and social gains Works with SJBOCES gifted coordinator Develop and monitor goals aligned the Gifted Education Review Other duties as assigned. Candidate Profile Education and Certification: ? Bachelor's Degree in Education ? Colorado Teaching Licence Minimum Experience: ? 3 years of teaching experience is preferred ? Coaching or mentoring experience is preferred ? Knowledge of Differentiated Instruction is preferred Skill Requirements: ? Familiarity with CDE requirements for gifted education ? Effective communication ? Ability to lead, coach and support all stakeholders ? Knowledge of core curriculum and evidence based instructional strategies ? Excellent organizational skills ? The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
